Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms

Due to the ongoing pandemic, and to help keep you and our colleagues safe we’re following national guidance and minimising face to face contacts. We will continue to support you through video consultation, telephone consultations and virtual clinics and we’ll see you face to face where this is safe, and the most appropriate way to support you in line with the national guidance.

Birmingham CrossCity CCG

Birmingham CrossCity Clinical Commissioning Group has the fourth largest population of all clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in England and has 100 member practices.

We are clinically led, which means we are made up of doctors, nurses and other professionals, and are responsible for commissioning (buying) health services for our patients as well as improving health within our local communities and across the city of Birmingham.

We took on responsibility for planning and buying NHS services for local people on 1 April 2013, following the abolition of Primary Care Trusts (PCTs).

Our budget for 2016/17 is £1 billion and we commission services for a population of around 710,000, including:

  1. Planned hospital care
  2. Rehabilitative care
  3. Urgent and emergency care (including out-of-hours)
  4. Most community health services
  5. Mental health and learning disability services
